Net Zero Commitment Statement

Medihelp is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2030.

Our Baseline Emissions Footprint 2022 - 2023

Baseline emissions represent the total greenhouse gases emitted before implementing any emission reduction strategies. They serve as the benchmark for measuring the reduction of emissions at Medihelp.

The primary components of energy consumption include the procurement of electricity and business mileage from employee-owned vehicles.

The Intensity Ratio presented below provides a comparison between the emissions data and the total area of office space in use, measured in square meters.

Emissions Reduction Target

In line with our goal to reach net zero emissions by 2030, we have implemented the following carbon emissions reduction projects to promote a progressive improvement across a 7 year period.

Where possible, we encourage staff to work from home and when it is appropriate to do so, we conduct employee and contractor training via online meeting platforms. Our client meetings are almost exclusively conducted online, however project implementation meetings are conducted on-site, which inevitably affects our emissions footprint.

We run a singular office location, local to all employees, which enables us to operate a car-share scheme. The single largest contributor to our baseline footprint was commuting, and as such we are working towards measures that can further reduce our employee travel whilst still retaining effective operations.

Carbon Emissions Reduction Projects

Within our first 12 months of operations, we have been mindful to make adjustments to our everyday business operations that work towards our goal to reduce emissions and achieve net zero emissions by 2030.

These include:

  • Conducting most client meetings via online platforms to reduce business associated travel

  • Introduced recycled paper into our printing activities, and implemented a number of online forms to reduce the need for our employees or supply chain to print documents out to sign

  • Promoted a cycle to work scheme

  • Focus heavily on recycling in the office using our site recycling facilities

  • Implemented a strict policy on the use of only reusable crockery and cutlery

  • Operated a hybrid working pattern which allows employees to work from home for the majority of the working week

  • Upgrading our office lighting to more efficient LED options

Future Reduction Projects

As further options become available, we will continue to progress our carbon reduction which will include some of the following forthcoming projects:

  • Switching our energy supply to a renewable energy supplier

  • Employee accountability for switching equipment off outside of hours

  • Light and movement sensors for lighting in certain areas of the office

  • Growing our car-share scheme

  • Fitting timers to our hot water systems

  • Working with our office neighbours to share and implement best practice in waste management and monitoring
